Red velvet is my absolute favorite. Be it cakes, cheesecakes or cookies! Try these quick and easy red velvet cookies which you can bake with or without an oven! 😉

Recipe

Ingredients
• Butter – 1/3 cup
• Powdered sugar – 2/3 cup
• Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
• Red food color
• Maida – 1.5 cup
• Baking powder – 1.5 tsp
• Baking soda – 3/4 tsp
• Cocoa powder – 1 tbsp
• Milk – 3 tbsp
• White chocolate chips (Optional)

1. Seive together maida, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa powder. Mix well (Dry mixture)

2. Beat butter and powdered sugar until it is light and fluffy. Add vanilla essence, food color and mix well (Wet mixture)

3. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix well using a spatula

4. Add milk gradually (1 tbsp at a time) and mix well. Once the milk is incorporated well, try to knead into a dough. You can add little more milk if the dough is not holding well

5. Make equal sized round balls and flatten them slightly, placing white chocolate chips on top. Bake in pre heated oven at 170 degrees for 25 mins. Bake for another 2-3 mins if required (May vary from oven to oven)

Alternatively, you can also bake them in a kadhai. Preheat the kadhai on medium flame for about 10 minutes. Place the cookies on a stand in the kadhai and cover cook on low flame for 30-35 minutes

Let them cool down and garnish with some white chocolate chips. Enjoy your beautiful freshly baked homemade red velvet cookies!
