Recipe
Ingredients
• Rajma (Soaked in water with a pinch of baking soda overnight) – 1.5 cup
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
• Finely chopped green chillies – 2 small
• Finely chopped onions – 3 large
• Ginger garlic paste – 1.5 tbsp
• Finely chopped tomatoes – 2 large
• Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
• Kashmiri red chilli powder – 2 tsp
• Coriander powder – 1 tsp
• Roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
• Salt – To taste
• Fresh lemon juice – 1 tsp (To taste)
• Fresh coriander leaves
1. Drain the soaked rajma and pressure cook with some salt
2. Heat oil in a kadhai and add cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds crackle, add green chilies and cook for 30 seconds
3. Add onions and cook well until they turn brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes
4. Add tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and pulpy. Add the dry spices and salt. Mix well and cook until the oil separates
5. Add the onion-tomato mixture to the rajma and mix well. Pressure cook this for 1-2 whistles so that the rajma absorbs the spices well
6. Add fresh lemon juice and mix well. Finally, cook the rajma for 4-5 minutes and add coriander leaves
Serve hot with jeera rice or any side of your choice and enjoy this delicious homemade rajma full of love! 🥣
