Lemon cake

Recipe

Ingredients
• Lemon zest – 1.5 tsp
• Milk – 1 cup
• Vinegar – 1 tsp
• Maida – 1.5 cup
• Powdered sugar – 1 cup
• Baking powder – 1 tsp
• Oil – 1/2 cup
• Fresh lemon juice – 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp
• Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
• Yellow food color – 2 to 3 drops (Optional)

1. Grate lemon zest 🍋

2. Add vinegar to milk and set aside for 5 mins (This will form a buttermilk like texture)

3. Seive together maida, powdered sugar and baking powder (Dry mixture)

4. Add oil, butter milk mixture to the dry mixture and mix well

5. Add baking soda to lemon juice and pour this into cake batter. Add lemon zest and mix well

6. Add 1 tbsp lemon juice and mix well

7. Pour into a greased mould and bake in pre heated oven at 180 degrees for 35 mins

8. Bake for another 5-10 mins, if required (May vary from oven to oven)
