Kesar peda

Fuss free, melt in the mouth, tempting kesar peda. 5 ingredients only: Ghee, milk, milk powder, sugar and saffron 😍

Recipe

Ingredients
• Saffron – 1/2 tsp
• Milk – 2/3 cup
• Ghee – 1.5 tbsp
• Milk powder – 1 cup
• Sugar – 1/3 cup
• Yellow food color (Optional)

1. Heat the milk until it is lukewarm and add saffron to it. Let this rest for about 15-20 minutes or until the milk absorbs the flavor and color of saffron

2. In a pan, mix together saffron milk, ghee and milk powder. Make sure there are no lumps

3. Cook this on low heat until the mixture starts coming together and becomes like a semi soft dough

4. Add sugar and mix well. Cook on low flame until the mixture becomes thick and like a very soft dough

5. Add food color if the mixture looks light colored. Cook the mixture well until it gathers in the pan. Turn off heat and let the mixture cool down at room temperature

6. Roll into equal sized pedas and garnish with your choice of dry fruits!
